Why Banaras is called Kashi?
The old city is located on the north shores of the Ganges, bounded by Varuna and Assi. In the Mahabharata and in ancient India, the city is referred to as Kāśī (काशी: Kashi) from the Sanskrit verbal root kaś- "to shine", making Varanasi known as "City of Light", the "luminous city as an eminent seat of learning".

DAY 1: MUMBAI - VARANASI
Board the Train Leave for Mathura
DAY 2: ARRIVAL IN VARANASI
Arrive in Varanasi, check into your hotel. Explore the ghats along the Ganges River, attend the Ganga Aarti in the evening.
DAY 3: VARANASI SIGHTSEEING
Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Sarnath (Buddhist site), and other key attractions. Enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges.
DAY 4: VARANASI TO PRAYAGRAJ
Drive to Prayagraj (around 2-3 hours).
Visit Triveni Sangam, Allahabad Fort, and
Anand Bhavan.
DAY 5: PRAYAGRAJ TO AYODHYA
Depart for Ayodhya (around 3-4 hours). Explore the Ram Janmabhoomi, Hanuman Garhi, and other religious sites.
DAY 6: AYODHYA TO LUCKNOW
Drive to Lucknow (around 3-4 hours).
Visit Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, and the Residency.
Explore Hazratganj for shopping.
DAY 7: LUCKNOW DEPARTURE
Depending on your departure time, you can explore more of Lucknow.
