Overview

Fireflies Trek and camping at Sandhan Valley is one of the best places to see millions of fireflies at one place in India during pre-monsoon season. Fireflies or lightning bugs make light within their bodies. This process is called bio-luminescence and is shared by many other organisms, mostly sea-living or marine organisms. Fireflies light up to attract a mate. To do this, the fireflies contain specialised cells in their abdomen that make light.

Sandhan Valley: The Valley of Shadow.

Sandhan Valley is situated in the western ghats of Sahyadris. The valley is located on the west side of beautiful Bhandardhara region near Samrad village. The village itself is located approx. at 3000 fts above sea level. Valley is surrounded by Alang, Madan, Kulang, Kalsubai, Ratangad and Ajoba mountain range. Hiking through Sandhan Valley gives you the best of light and shadow experience while walking into it.

Photographers Delight

It is awesome experience to capture fireflies in cameras. You can capture the Fireflies trail using long exposure. Also you can experiment with Multiple Exposure shots to capture multiplied effect of the flies.

Itinerary

From Pune :-

Day 1 :- Saturday :-Reporting at JW Masrriot SB Road at 8:45 pm
Start to Pune by Private bus  sharp 9;00 pm
Resoprt at Nashik Phata At 09:30 pm
Second pickup point Nashik Phata at 10:45 pm
Reach Samrad village at 02:30 am.
Reach Base Village,Enjoy overnight travel with group fun activities and bonfire.

Day 2 Sunday :-

4 :00 am to 6:00 :  Rest in bus . beause deu to samrad villege gate is not open till morning 5 :30 am.

06:30 AM: Reach base villege have fresh an up.
07:30 AM : Have a heavy breakfast.
08:00 AM: Start our trek to the Sandhan Valley.
08:30 Am Reach At Zipline spot.
09:30 AM: Reach At Rapelling Spot.
10:30 AM: Activity, Explore valley, Relax.
01:00 Pm: Start walking back to the base village via the same route
2:30 PM: Reach Base Village and have lunch
03:00 PM: Have Lunch
04:00 PM: Depart for Pune
010:00 PM: Reach Pune (Arrival Time Depends on Pace of Group and Traffic)
10:30PM : Everyone will reach their respective homes, that too with beautiful lot of memories.

Good Torch must with an extra battery
Trekking Shoes provide more grip and comfort on the trek

Please wear Full sleeves and Full Track Pant this will protect from Summer Sun / Thorns / Insects / Prickles
Rains are expected, so pack your bags accordingly to save them from getting wet
Double pack your valuables/phones in plastic bags
Rainwear / Poncho / Waterproof jacket etc. if you don’t want to get wet.
