The Bhimashankar trek is a nature lover’s delight. It takes you into the heart of the Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary through thick forests.W The Bhimashankar trek gives you a full dose of adventure with stream crossings, ladders, and rock climbing all bundled into one trip.
While monsoon is the best time to do this trek, it can also be done in other seasons. The route is scenic and thrilling. Those accustomed to trekking can hike the Bhimashankar via the Shidi Ghat route. While for beginners, we recommend the Ganesh Ghat route, which offers splendid views and is easier.
While in the jungle, you will see a variety of birds, animals, and spotted deer for company If you’re lucky, you might even get to spot a ‘Shekar’ or the Malabar Giant Squirrel.
Bhimashankar, located about 100 km from Pune and 223 km from Mumbai, is a popular temple town. It is among one of the twelve traditional ‘Jyotilingam’ shrines of Lord Shiva in India.
Bhimashankar is located in the village Bhorgiri in the ghat region of the Sahyadri range. Situated at an height of around 3,250 feet, Bhimashankar is surrounded by hills and is covered by thick green rainforests. Legend has it that the name Bhimashankar was originated from the river Bhima which evaporated due to the generated between the war of Lord Shiva and the demon Tripurasura. It is considered to be one of the holiest places in India because of the jyotirlinga. Bhimashankar is also a popular destination for trekkers. Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary is another important reason why people come here.
Route:-
The best part of the trek is the trail to Gupt Bhimashankar, located in the middle of a stream, underneath a rock. Khandas is the base village for the Bhimashankar trek. About 500 m after crossing Khandas village, you will come across a small bridge at a T-junction. Its a medium level trek to do from Khandas.The road to the left leads to Shidi Ghat while the one to the right leads to the Ganesh Ghat walkway.Bhorgiri to Bhimashankar trek is a pretty adventurous trek to do.

We created a WhatsApp group 12 hrs. before the event and all our members in the group. Trek leaders contact details, bus details are provided in the WhatsApp group and then you can add all your members in the group,We have the right to modify or change the schedule if required in case of emergency.
Trekfit team holds the right to cancel any event and refund with prior notice.
We strictly follow a no alcohol, no smoking and no litter policy. Members are requested to follow this strictly and pick up your own litter during treks. We care for the nature and forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that we are visiting. We should maintain a strict discipline on forts.
If Trek gets cancelled due to Police restrictions/any other unforeseen circumstances/natural calamity 40% of the amount will be refunded. Our trek leaders will try conducting some other nearby trek and make your weekend happy. We always try to make your weekend the best one and as per the plan but in this … time we need to make some changes in the plan.
If you cancel the trek by your own before 24 hrs. of the event ,25% will be cancellation charges. On the spot cancellation/12 hrs. before the trek will not be refunded.
Once booking is done and if you cancel the trek the amount will not be refunded, but you can use the paid amount by attending any other event of Trekfit adventures in the next 6 months/pass on your credit to your friend.
