Mythology says it is the lake where Sage Vyas meditates and wrote the epic story of ”Mahabharata”. The Beas kund trek distance is around 30 km and trails are full of beautiful forest areas.

Thus, making Beas kund a spiritual place. On this trek, you will get stunning views of Pir Panda mountain range.

Throughout the picturesque trails of Beas kund trek, you will be followed by peaks of Indrasan, Shitidhar, Friendship peak, Seven sisters and Deo tibba.

Beas kund trek has no age bar. People of all age group can do this trek, which makes it one of the best camping places in India.

Location and how to reach

Getting from/ to, To begin with, Beas kund trek, you have to reach Manali.

Manali can be reached by the following modes of transport :

By Air: The nearest airport to Manali is Bhuntar. It is located at a distance of 57 km from Manali. However, due to the bad weather conditions flight is not the reliable mode of transport.

By Road: Manali is very well connected by road with different cities. The nearest is Delhi bus station at distance of 570 km from Manali.

The Beas Kund trek is one of the easiest Himalaya trekking tours.

This trek is meant for the beginners in trekking expedition. Though it’s an easy trek in the Himalayas, physical fitness of the trekker is important. So that they enjoy this trekking to their fullest.

Weather

Beas kund trek temperature is around 13c. The temperature can dip to – 7°c at night. Although the Beas kund weather remains very pleasant throughout the trails.

Day 1
Reporting to Manali. (1800m)

On the first day, you will be given information about the Beas kund trek weather along with Beas kund trek map will be provided to understand the trek trails.

You will be guided about do's and Don'ts in the trek by professional guides.

Beas kund weather is very pleasant and before starting the trek you will be given sufficient time to explore the hill stations like Manali.

You can enjoy and visit the market for shopping. This day off is usually for acclimatization for the next day of their Himalaya trekking tour.

Day 2
Manali / Solang Valley / Bakar Thach(10700ft.) Via Taxi.(/ 8 hrs) (approx. 13-14 km.)

We start post breakfast. The distance between Solang Valley and Manali is 13 km.
This distance will be covered by taxi.
Solang Valley is a renowned picturesque spot for various sports like skiing, paragliding and many more.
Beas kund trek officially begins from Solang valley.
The distance from Solang to Bakkar thach is 8 km. A stretch of 3 hrs trek on the trodden road along the river Beas, we will reach Dhundi village.
This is the last village in Solang Valley and a place where river Beas meets its first tributary emerging from Beas kund and Rohtang pass.
After 1.5 hrs of the trek on pastures and meadows, you will reach a campsite from where you can see Deo tibba and Hanuman Tibb.
But, our campsite is still at 2 hrs distance.
The camping trip walk will continue till you reach your destination site.
This Himalaya trekking tour trail passes through the conifer trees, rhododendrons shrubs and a bridge after which we will reach to Bakkar Thach.
Nestled in the snowclad peaks of Himalayas, Bakkar thach is an ideal campsite.
The breathtaking view of Indrasan, friendship peak, Hanuman Tibb, Shitidhar will bring peace to your mind and you are all-day fatigue will vanish.
Tents will be pitched here for our the overnight stay.

Bakar thach – Beas Kund (12800ft.) - Bakar Thach (10700 ft; 6 to 7 hrs) Approx 10-11 km.
After having your breakfast you can start the hike for Beas kund trek. The distance between Bakkar thach and Beas kund is 6 km.
From this point, the trek is a bit tougher and can be covered in 6-7 hrs.
Beas kund is the origin of Beas River. The holy Beas kund Lake is formed by the melting of alpine glacier all along the lake.
The colourful view of green pastures, white snow-capped peaks and blue crystal clear water of Lake gives you divine feelings.
You will have time to cherish the moment do photography. You can call it a perfect weekend trip.
After 2 hrs you will head down to your basecamp Bakkar thach.
This camping trip could not be any better while we stay overnight, in the lap of Himalayas.
Camping in India has been trending these days and you will notice how youth and elders all enjoy sitting around the fire, singing and enjoying the night.

Bakar Thach –Solang Valley- Manali. (1800m/6000ft; 5 – 6hrs) Approx 13 – 14 km.

Today you will descend to Dhundi. From Dhundi Manali can be reached easily through the drive.
Your adventurous weekend trip ends here.
First, we will trek from Bakkar thach to Solang Valley via hamlet of Dhundi.
On the way, the folk will share the common bond of an unforgettable journey to the Beas kund trek.
They will share their experiences of witnessing scenic beauty of the base of Himalayas.
From Solang Valley, we will have the cab facilities available.
We will drive back to Manali, which marks ending of the adventurous journey with unending memories of one of the best camping places in India.
